Thankful Thursday

I can't belive I am saying this, but today I am thankful for my TV. 99% of the time I could do without the tv, but today my favorite show in the whole world is starting again for the summer and I am SO excited!

I admit it, I am addicted to So You Think You Can Dance. It is such a fun show and I am awed by the talent of the dancers. It makes me wish I had persuded dance further.

We love watching it as a family. Bailey loves watching the moves and then trying them herself. It is hilarious.

So no one call me tonight because I won't answer the phone, I will be watching "my show."

Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for flowers. I love flowers. Ever since I was little I was amazed by how intricate and delicate they are. I also loved the colors and loved looking at flowerbeds that had lots of colors in them.

In college I developed a love for floral design. I took a few classes at BYU and then went to floral design school after graduating. Then I went on to work in a flowershop.

Lately I have been doing wedding flowers out of my house for friends and family. It is so fun to get the guidlines of what a bride wants and then let my imagination go wild and figure out what creations I can come up with. I admit it can be a little stressful at times, especially when my girls like to "pick" the flowers I am using for a wedding, but it has been so much fun and provides a little extra money, which is always a plus.

Pretty ballerina

What posture!
Watching the other girls dance instead of dancing

Wearing all her "ballet creations"

Got to love the peanutbutter and jelly/ chocolate icecream face
For the last 8 weeks Bailey has been taking a ballet class through the Parks and Rec program. It was called "Be a Ballerina" and at the begining of each class the girls were able to make an item that they got to wear for their "recital" on the last day of class.
Well today was the big day and OH MY what loveliness abounded in that room. Each girl danced their best and was convinced she was the most beautiful girl there. Unlike most of the girls in the class, this was Bailey first dance class so she spent most of the recital watching the other girls dance, but I don't care, I am still a proud mamma. You couldn't beat the smile off of both our faces.
After the show we went to Jasons Deli for lunch as a little reward for all Bailey hard work.

Dino Dig

Taking a break from digging to give mom a little "kwiss."

There is a local park called the Riparian preserve. It is a little oasis in the middle of the hot dessert. One of its many attractions is a dinosaur dig. Schools and groups come to dig up dinosaur bones and other fossils. My parents are good friends with the creator/director of the preserve Scott Anderson and Friday evening, Brother Anderson was so kind as to let our girls and his grand kids have their very own dig.

To say Bailey was excited would be an understatement. She loves dinosaurs, she even thinks a few live in her tummy, so to learn more about them and to dig in the dirt to find them was heaven.

We spent a good hour digging around in the dirt to unearth a headrosarous fossil. They even got to use brushes just like the scientists. We also got to look at some replicas of dinosaur eggs, fossils and bones. It was fun to watch the girls get down in the dirt and to see how excited Bailey was when she found the bones.

Thankful Thursday

My little Claire has been sick this last week and I have been so grateful for doctors. It is a comforting feeling to know that I can call or visit the doctor to get advise on how to make my babies feel better. I am grateful they are so close by and their there when ever I need them and we don't have to "send" for one like they did a 100 years ago. Thanks Doctors!

Watch Out!

I have always been told that I was a very difficult toddler. Some have even gone as far as saying I was a "terror"child. People even spent half of my wedding lunch telling my future in laws all the "wonderful" things I did as a toddler. I guess I was really bossy, climbed EVERYTHING, was into everything and was very mischievous.
My dad reminds me often that my mom would call him, in tears, to tell him I was plotting against her. My aunt tells me that I once dumped a cup of water on her, while she was sun bathing, and then stood there and stared at her with a "what are you going to do now" look on my face. But the one thing i have been told the most is they hope I get a kid just like me.
Well there wish has been granted. I think my little Claire is going to be just like me, even though she looks like her daddy. Now I would never call her a terror child, but she does keep me on my toes. On a regular bases I have to peel her off the top of the dinner table or counters. I can't go anywhere in the house without her following behind me leaving a path of destruction in her wake. And she can hold her own in a battle of strength with her older sister. Claires solution if she is being over powered is knock Bailey over and bite her bum.
I love my little Claire more than anything. She is a sweet heart with sensitive feelings, loves her family, give kisses all the time and loves to smile. I just hope someday I will look back at all the the mischief she gets into and smile, but boy I am worn out!
