Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for my knowledge of eternal families. I don't know what I would do without my family. They mean everything to me and I am so greatful to know that we will always have eachother.

This knowledge has also been a comfort this last week with the death of President Hinckley and today we learned that Scotts Grandma Erickson died. I am greatful that their loved ones will be with them again someday.

A blessed people

I, like a lot of people, have been thinking a lot about President Hinckley the last 18 hours or so. We are such a blessed people to have had such amazing leaders and to have been able to share in the life and words of President Hinckley.
Last night as I was getting ready for bed I was feeling a little sad for myself at the loss of our prophet. Then at the same time, I was so happy for him, he is now with his sweet wife and gets to rest (if he ever will.) Then my thoughts went to the death of the Prophet Joseph and what it would have been like for the members the day he died. The Prophet Joseph died in such a sudden and awful way, I doubt the members had the peace that many of us are feeling today. They were unsure of the future of the church and weren't sure who the next prophet would be. I can't imagine how awful and unsettling that would have been.
Again we are a blessed people to now know who the next prophet will be and to know that the work of the Lord will continue on. We are blessed to know that our prophet had lived a long and full life and that President Monson is an amazing man and will do great things for the church.

Thankful Thursday

My friend Becky Tiffany does a thing called "thankful Thursday" on her blog. I think that is a great idea and think I will give it a whirl.

This week I am thankful for my sweet husband Scott. Here is a the top ten reasons I love him.

#1 He is just so cute! I love his blue eyes.

#2 He comes home for lunch everyday to be with us

and to let me have a chance to get things done

#3 He will watch movies with me even though I

always fall asleep within the first 20 minutes

#4 He listens to me, even when I am irrational

#5 He cleans the kitchen after dinner

#6 He works hard at his office so we can have a nice home

#7 He laughs at the silliest things

#8 He clips coupons with me and loves to shop sales

(and even uses the coupons when I send him to the store)

#9 He wakes up early every morning to be with the girls

and to let me get a few more minutes of sleep

(how did I get so lucky!)

#10 He loves me no matter what I do and works so hard to keep

all his girls happy.

"Mirror, mirror on the wall...

who is the fairest of them all?" CLAIRE!!! Last night Claire wanted to play in one of Bailey's dress ups. She pranced around the house knowing that she is the fairest in the Kingdom of Gilbert. You couldn't beat the smile off her face, she was so proud of herself. She even cried when I tried to take it off. I guess vanity starts at a young age.

I need advice

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a little problem I have. I teach the CTR 5 class in primary and we have 10 very determined little souls in the class. We (I team teach with another sister) have had a really hard time keeping them under control. We have finally figured out how to keep them calmed down during class time but now sharing time is a mess. They are always talking, runing around the room, and being disruptive. Does anyone have any ideas or tips on keeping ten 5 year olds under control for sharing time. We already have 3 adults watching them but it isn't working. HELP PLEASE!!!!

Amazing Grace

Last night we rented the movie Amazing Grace. It is a movie about the abolition of Englands slave trade in the late 1700's. It also tells a little about the history of the song Amazing Grace. If you are looking for a movie to encourage you that one person can make a difference and that hard work pays off, this is it.

What a day

I just have to vent for a minute and say that I am glad January 4th is over with. We all woke up this morning feeling like I have been hit by a truck only to find out that everyonehas a serious case of boogie noses, no fun. Then I remembered that Bailey had preschool and since she wasn't too boogie I decided to give her a little medicine and take her. While I was doing that I noticed that Claire was being really quiet, not a good sign for her. I look over and see her on the floor with an opened bottle of infant Tylenol, covered in pink stick and chuuging the contents of the bottle. I of course freak out and call poison control. Claire is fine (I still don't think I have recovered) and incase you were wondering a 20 lbs. 10 month old can drink half a bottle of infant tylenol and be ok.

Then to make the day better I spend the next 7 hours doing flowers for a wedding using over 250 long stem roses that cost $2 a piece, little stressful. While I was loading the flowers into the van to deliver them I leave the backdoor open by accident and 3 bees get in the house and I am late because I had to ge them out.

Reading back over this it doesn't sound all that bad but I am glad today is over with. I think I am going to take some medicine, put it up high so Claire can't get it and go to bed. Goodnight!
